Rutweets633RuPaul took to Twitter over the weekend to respond to allegations that the Logo network is distancing itself from him after the drag icon broke his silence regarding his current view on the use of the word "tranny" during a recent episode of the WTF With Marc Maron Podcast.

RuPaul wrote:

The tweet was a direct response to a Buzzfeed article titled "Logo TV Distances Itself From RuPaul For Defending Use Of Anti-Transgender Slur" in which a Logo TV rep was quoted as telling the website, "These comments did not come from Logo. We are committed to supporting the entire LGBT community and will not feature any anti-trans rhetoric on our shows."

RuPaul also aired his frustration with a series of tweets expanding on his use of the word "tranny" and clarifying his feelings on the criticism he's recently received from some in the LGBT community.

RuPaul writes:

These comments followed on the heels of another string of tweets eluding to the current controversy which included:

"You know, I can call myself a nigger, faggot, tranny all I want to, because I've fucking earned the right to do it. I've lived the life," RuPaul said during his recent interview with Marc Maron. "I've been on the front line. ... And if I call my girlfriend 'bitch,' she knows I'm talking about it from a place of love. She knows that. But people out of school can take that same information and try to use it against me, because the ego cannot pick up the intention behind it."
